Are you still typing every email, message, and document one character at a time? Typeless is an AI-powered voice typing tool built around a simple idea: speak instead of type.
Rather than simply transcribing your voice word for word, Typeless uses AI to clean up what you say in real time and turn it into polished text that can be used directly in emails, chats, documents, prompts, and other applications.
In this article, I’ll explain what Typeless is, what it can do, how much it costs, and what I thought after actually using it.
What Is Typeless?

Typeless is more than a conventional dictation or speech-to-text tool. It works as an AI voice keyboard that transcribes, edits, and formats your speech automatically.
According to Typeless, the average typing speed on a traditional QWERTY keyboard is around 45 words per minute, while voice input with Typeless can reach the equivalent of approximately 220 words per minute.
In other words, you can potentially create text around four times faster than by typing manually.
Typeless is available on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android, and it works with most applications where you would normally type, including Gmail, Slack, Notion, Google Docs, VS Code, and many others.
Key Features of Typeless
Filler Removal, Automatic Editing, and Formatting
Typeless does not simply convert everything you say directly into text. It automatically edits your speech to make the final result easier to read.
For example, it can:
- Remove filler words such as “um,” “uh,” and similar verbal pauses
- Remove unnecessary repetitions
- Recognize when you correct yourself while speaking and keep only the final intended version
- Automatically turn spoken lists into structured text such as bullet points
This means you can speak relatively freely without carefully planning every sentence in advance.
Even if your speech is somewhat unstructured, Typeless can turn it into text that is considerably easier to read.
Personalized Writing Style, Tone, and Personal Dictionary
Typeless gradually learns your writing style and the way you communicate as you continue using it.
Frequently used names, industry terminology, product names, and other vocabulary can also be added to a personal dictionary. Words can be added automatically or manually, helping Typeless recognize them more accurately across different applications.
This is particularly useful if you frequently work with specialized terminology or names that standard speech recognition systems tend to misunderstand.
Support for More Than 100 Languages and Real-Time Translation
Typeless can automatically detect more than 100 languages and can even handle situations where multiple languages are used within the same sentence.
It also includes real-time translation.
By selecting a target output language in advance, you can speak in one language and have Typeless automatically generate the final text in another language.
For people who regularly communicate across different languages, this can significantly reduce the need to switch between dictation software and a separate translation tool.
Ask Anything
Ask Anything lets you select text and give Typeless additional instructions using your voice.
For example, you can:
- Edit selected text by saying things such as “Make this more formal” or “Summarize this in two sentences”
- Ask questions about selected text, including requests for summaries, explanations, or translations
- Perform simple searches or open specified websites and applications using voice commands
This makes Typeless more than just an alternative to typing.
It also works as a lightweight AI assistant that you can control with your voice.
Privacy
According to Typeless, voice data is not retained in the cloud and is not used to train its models.
Your dictation history is also designed to be stored on your device.
However, privacy requirements differ depending on how and where the tool is used. If you plan to dictate highly confidential or sensitive information, it is worth reviewing the latest official privacy policy before using the service in that environment.
Typeless Pricing
Typeless offers three plans: Free, Pro, and Enterprise as of August 2026.
| Plan | Price | Main Features |
|---|---|---|
| Free (for getting started) | $0 / member / month | Up to 8,000 words per week, standard accuracy, standard access during high demand. Translation, Ask Anything, personalized style and tone, personal dictionary, support for 100+ languages, app-specific tones, and Whisper Mode are available on the free plan |
| Pro (most popular / for power users and small teams) | $12 / member / month when billed annually, or $30 when billed monthly | Everything in Free, plus unlimited words, improved accuracy, priority access during high demand, cloud sync across devices, team member management, consolidated billing and invoices, and team usage analytics |
| Enterprise (for larger organizations) | Custom pricing | Everything in Pro, plus SSO, SCIM user provisioning, domain verification and capture, audit logs with configurable retention periods, enforced HIPAA controls, volume discounts, flexible billing and payment terms, and priority support |
One of the biggest advantages of the Free plan is that important features such as translation and Ask Anything are already included.
The allowance of up to 8,000 words per week also makes it relatively easy to test Typeless properly before deciding whether you need a paid plan.
My Experience Using Typeless

To use Typeless on Windows or macOS, you first install the desktop application.
After completing a short initial setup, you can assign a keyboard shortcut. Pressing that shortcut activates Typeless, allowing you to start dictating directly into the application you are currently using.
Transcription Accuracy
In my experience, Typeless provides very good transcription accuracy.
What impressed me most was not simply its ability to recognize individual words, but how well it handled natural corrections while speaking.
For example, if you say a name or term incorrectly and then immediately correct yourself, Typeless can usually understand the correction and keep the intended version in the final text.
It also performed well with proper nouns and context-specific terminology once the intended wording was made clear.
This is important because real-world dictation is rarely perfect. People pause, repeat themselves, change sentences halfway through, and correct names or words after saying them.
Typeless does a good job of turning that imperfect spoken input into cleaner final text.
Typeless vs. Wispr Flow
Typeless is often compared with Wispr Flow, another popular AI voice typing tool.
Both share the same basic concept: instead of simply transcribing speech word for word, AI processes what you say and produces cleaner, more usable text.
However, there are several differences between them, including real-time translation, voice-based AI commands such as Ask Anything, supported platforms, pricing, snippets, and additional productivity features.
I’ll cover the differences between Wispr Flow and Typeless in more detail in a separate comparison article.
